Want a hotdog?

Didn't feel too well today. Left shop slightly earlier and headed for Pasir Ris. Bought a ticket for Ip Man at 9.50. It got a little weird when I bumped into my parents outside the cinema. They were also watching the same movie at the same time. Talk about coincidence! Their seats were at the row behind mine and my mum was asking if I wanted a hotdog bun across the people diagonally between us. I didn't feel embarrassed but I thought it was funny.

It is the little things in life that bring smiles and joy.

Gtg. Show is starting.

Thank you. =)

It is strange that sometimes others know what I want better than I do.

Longest Christmas Night

Came back at 5 plus, record breaking for me. I usually don't stay out late for Christmas.

Time for bed.
Thank goodness I chose the 16Gb iPod touch for my brother over the 8Gb version. It was $100 difference for the additional 8Gb. He was just expecting the smaller capacity version. When I was using my touch before the iPhone, 16Gb was barely enough especially when you load movies and TV shows with it. He wanted the touch to kill time during his long sea trips (Navy). Just filled his ipod with some shows and videos alone already took 12Gb!

Cruising

Zelene will be going back home today and I probably won't see the car again. Just like the big rocking horse I bought her last Christmas. I only get to see the present for a day. So better take more photos this time. She was ecstatic about going out and even helped to bring my shoes and socks to me. Anyway, it has been months since I last took photos of her.

Super baby pose.

Having fun driving around the void deck. She learnt that stepping on the pedal will make the car move forward but she doesn't understand the idea of the steering wheel yet. My sister had to use the remote control to assist.

Brought her to the playground next.

This will remind her in the future of her coolest uncle.

This is funny cos it can pass off as a poster for yellow ribbon project.

Zelene better like this present!

Being Santa

Blew my budget big time this year. But how do you justify your gift budget for your family? My brother wanted an iPod touch. The 16Gb version cost almost $500, is that too expensive? It is hard to answer and since his birthday is two days before Christmas, treat it as a combined gift. For my sister and parents, they were lucky with these year's gifts. I don't know what to get for them and the first things that came to my mind happened to be over budget but I don't want to stress myself too much on the presents so just get it over and done with. Rather spend on something more that they will like than to get something not practical. I have to admit that I am not good at buying gifts.

Zelene's car was the most 'chut chut' wrapped present ever.

Test drive.

My cousins - Gary and Ginny also came over for dinner and got their little gifts.

Got my parents the iPamper from Osim. Wanted to get the U-Crown initially, the one that looks like a brainwash machine. After trying it at the store, didn't feel it was worth the price. It was good but the iPamper felt more practical. There was also a good discount for DBS/ POSB card holders.

Got my sister a refurbished macbook this year. She is not a heavy computer user and this macbook is already an overkill for her. She will have to share it with Derrick (my brother-in-law). Her family presents have cost me the most this year. She was extremely lucky that I managed to get the macbook at this special price. The pig massage cushion was a gag gift and I needed that for its box to conceal the macbook.

Everyone thought the macbook was the gag gift instead and insisted it was just a toy so they had to turn it on to make sure it was real.

My brother's turn. I bought him a $2.30 egg roll crackers with the price tag still on from Guardian Pharmacy. He seemed to know that I wouldn't just give him that and opened it calmly to check the contents.

His new iPod touch.

My dad got Zelene the old school fishing game. She understood the game within a short while and was hooked to the game.

Her anxiety on her first catch. Actually, I helped to put the hook into the fish's mouth.

Gift from Yosh, the croc stapler is too cute to be kept in office so I better leave it a home. i.e. I will still be coming over to borrow your stapler =p

Royce cookies and chocs from a client.

Chocs and coaster from Cui Mei.

Beanie plus from Sharon and AL. They said it looks like me. Does it?

Snowtubing

Went to Snow City yesterday with Andrew and Hans for snowtubing. Why there? No special reason. Christmas is approaching. We just felt that going there and we missed snowtubing down the slope. It may be a short slope but we are cool with it, not like there is a bigger one out here. The scene at the ticket counter was funny when the auntie selling the entrance tickets tried to inform us that there is no skiing and snowboarding during that afternoon session. We were perfectly aware of that and we came just for snowtubing. She didn't seem believe that 3 'young boy's will want to enter to slide down the ice slope.

The place was quite crowded since it was the school holidays. We went as many rounds as we could within the 1 hour of play time and we were heavily amused with our dressing. We look like fishermen in Alaska as seen in Discovery Channel's "Deadliest Catch". The last time I went few months back, I tried to be a hero back then. Not wanting to rent gloves and my head was exposed to -5.7 degrees of coldness. I was looking forward to this visit and I was fully prepared this time (almost), brought 2 beanies and my hoodie! My mistake was wearing ankle socks. While sliding down, ice entered my shoes and socks. By the end of the hour, my feet were numb.

Most people seem to find snow city sad and lame. It may be and I like to refer it to as the 'giant ice kachang factory'. Whatever. I rather spend this $18 than a drink in a club. We had fun and thats all that matters.

Massive surgery

Didn't blog last night due to an intensive surgery on a MacBook.
2.5hrs long and it was alot harder then I expected. Now I know why it
cost so much to replace an Lcd screen. Most of the cost went into
labour.

Santa is on his way!

Another book gift. No doubt that it will be a good read.

Thank you. :)

Then I got this book as a Christmas gag gift. It really amazed me
because I really loved origami when I was a kid and I always wanted a
book just on dinosaur origami but it didn't materialise. This book
reminds me of my childhood.

Thank you. :)

Blessings

Been getting a lot of gifts recently. First was the Royce chocs,
champagne, wine, Nepal Tshirt, etc.

Andrew got me this bag of fried fish from Hk. Doesn't look appetizing
at first but you start, you can't stop!

Looking for gold fabric Santa Claus hat

I saw one in my client's house but she forgot where she bought it from 2 years ago.

Hope to find one so it can accommodate my new Nike bling wind breaker.

Its the standard santa claus hat but it is of gold fabric instead of the usual red velvet material. Let me know if you see it.

Wall revamped

My Dad who has a small interest in reading about fengshui has been telling for quite a while that my room has 'no life'. After what happened earlier this year, I have since removed all pictures from my wall. Dad tried to add a plant to my room but I am not keen in a small miserable pot. I will be glad to have a tree in the corner of my room, doesn't matter if it will take up space in my room, I am willing to share it under such circumstances. After all my trips this year which I have spent quite fair amount of money, I might as well make more use of the photos taken from the trips.

So I made A1 photo boards showing a compilation of the selected photos from each trip. Currently, I only have 2 boards, Taiwan and Philippines. I have been to KL so many times but I didn't have time for a proper photo outing, was always busy with work. Can't wait to go KL again!

The idea of these boards is to have a series of the countries I have visited and some day it will go around the walls of my room.

Setting up new gen SDU is also not easy

Just remembered a conversation with Steph earlier this week which I thought was really amusing. Being in NIE, I reckon she has a large network. She offered to introduce someone to me if she comes across someone suitable. She asked what is my criteria or what do I lookout for.

My reply was simple - "x factor".

She gave me a damn sian look. When she asked her girl friends, they replied "must have that feeling lor".

If guys looks for "x factor" and girls look for "must have that feeling lor", how to match?

Maybe that is why till now, there isn't any new gen SDU. I am not sure how well the existing SDU is performing, yet to hear any success stories within my circle of friends. Did hear of girls' stories saying most of the guys who attended the SDU events were engineers who spend most of their time on PSP computer games. Speaking of PSP, I am always intrigued by a group of well dressed guys sitting outside my shop in Suntec during lunch time focusing on their PSP consoles. I call them "The PSP Warriors". I don't think all the SDU guys will be that bad. Those ladies were probably unfortunate to attend the wrong events.

Single or being attached. Which is better?

I wish I can have the time to blog about this issue someday.

I had too much time to think this issue when I was alone in the Philippines. That trip changed me and my perspectives. It will take a damn long post to talk about those perspectives.

For now when people ask me which is better, to me. It is great to be attached (to the right one) to be happy and share the great moments together. If one is single, there are plenty of reasons to celebrate it as well. Freedom is key in singlehood. Man (both man and woman) strive and work for freedom but many end up rushing to chain themselves to a metal ball feeling miserable.

I do fear that I am starting to get too used to being single and losing interest in getting attached. However I am still straight and far from turning gay. I make light jokes about that sometimes but I was told that I can never make it as one even if I wanted to. Even with the 'sisters' at Art Outreach, it is still not enough to turn me into a homosexual.

I just screw the fear part, I actually have more important things to worry about like my work.

Some friends seem more anxious than myself to see me getting attached again. Since Philippines, my new stand is this: I am not going out there scouting and looking around for the right one. I just have too much to be occupied with. I can't reduce them because I really enjoy my life now. I have removed the ideal age limit of settling down, etc. Of course, it will be ideal if I can still meet it but it is just no longer my priority. If a new right one comes along, I will thank God for it. Otherwise, just enjoy the other beautiful things in life.

There is much to see, feel, learn and give.

Early christmas gift.

Ying Xiu just came back from Nepal and got me this t shirt as a gift.

Thanks!

Aching Legs

Just went through my previous posts. The last time I had a good workout was the riding session on 29 August. That is almost 4 months ago!!!! It is recommended that we need to exercise at least 3 times a week!

Alex and I did make it down to Valhall for the floorball session. Was 'faked' by the girl who attended to my call last Friday. She told me there will be players today but there were none. We continued to make full use of the time and made do with what we have. After a few short one on one session, I was totally tired... cannot make it!

I won't go back there again unless we can gather a group big enough for a game. That means we need at least 6 or more people, ideally 8 or even more people. Thats the inconvenience for team games like floorball.

Quote from Alex

Alex told me one of his views of relationships and I find it really funny because it is true to a certain extent.

He said guys are usually at a disadvantage.

When a couple breaks up, it is easier for the girl to get attached faster than the guy. That girl will just be 'jioed' by a new guy but her ex-boyfriend has to 'restart' to 'jio' a new girl. The key words in quotes added flavor and humor to his theory.

I think it is highly subjective and really depends on the personality of the girl and guy. I did have a good laugh especially when he asked is that why I still choose to remain single.

We should form the new gen SDU

The right girls tend to end up with the wrong guys.

The right guys tend to end up with the wrong girls.

Sometimes the right ones end up together but people change and compromises the relationship.

We should have some kind of system to match the right couples at the beginning.

My reward after a workout
